Serving at BBCC
We believe everyone has God-given gifts and talents and that we’re called to use them to serve others. On Sundays, this might be welcoming people as a Greeter, serving as a Tech on our Worship Team, helping in our Children’s Ministry, or preparing refreshments or communion elements. Throughout the week, this might be hosting or leading life Groups, serving on leadership teams, or helping with property maintenance. Serving is a way of loving God and loving others. Your service makes a difference.
If you’re new to BBCC, or you haven’t been involved for a while, now’s a great time to start serving. Here are some of the areas you can help out – click on APPLY NOW to let us know.
Hospitality Team
- Greeters: Welcome people as they arrive at church and are responsible for handing out occasional flyers before the service, collecting the offering during the service. You will need a welcoming smile and to be here at 10 am.
- Ushers: Welcoming people and helping them find seats inside the church auditorium. Duty starts at 10.15 am
- Carparking: Managing the carpark area and directing cars to find a space; traffic management; and also keeping an eye out when the carpark is full to direct cars to park on the grass area.
- Communion: Duty involves preparing the elements for Communion and clearing up after the service. You’ll need to be at church by 10 am.
- Refreshments: Duty involves preparing tea/coffee, cold water, and biscuits (or savouries/cakes on special occasions) to enjoy after the service. You will need to be here at 10 am to set up; and available after the service to serve the refreshments, and cleaning up – including using our commercial dishwasher.
- Welcome Desk: Helping people with their enquiries, provide EFTPOS facilities; and manage our sign up sheets. You will be setting up by 10 am; and are on duty both before and after the church service.
Kidz Quest (Children's Ministry)
Kidz Quest Teachers and helpers lead our childrens’ ministry and must love working with children to help them grow in Jesus. You need to arrive by 9.30 am to help set up – with the Kidz Quest space ready to welcome people from 10.15 am.
Children are released from the main service at approximately 11.10 am and you’ll need to be the first out to the KQ area to welcome children (and any parents who come to settle their kids).
Worship Team
Worship Team members attend a monthly practice and need to be at rehearsals at 9 am on Sunday mornings on their rostered days (except for the Livestream tech who starts at 10 am).
Please refer to the Worship Team brochure for more information about getting involved, or talk to Rebekah or Pastor Andrew.
